Writer says drivers should slow down to avoid tickets

Editor:

I want to comment on the letter from Kevin Gorham in last week’s Beacon. Pure and simple, if they were not speeding they (customers, residents and any others) would not be getting tickets. It is not like they were doing 40 mph in a 35 mph zone, most of them were at least doing 15 mph over the speed limit.

Need I remind anyone that there are pedestrians, bicyclists along this route as well as young children? There are homes and other businesses as well. I find it hard to believe that businesses are hurting because of speeding tickets.

Customers are complaining? Are they the ones that got the tickets? I offer two solutions: 1) Leave earlier or 2) Don’t speed.

I’m not sure what the holiday season has to do with speeding, other than it hurts in the pocketbook. Again I offer the above two solutions.

Let’s keep them alive. So what if that means doing the speed limit and a cold pizza. Obey the laws and you do not have to pay!
