William Burdette Hanby




A funeral service, celebrating the life of William Burdette Hanby, 66, of Granville, was held January 24, 2012, in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, Kirkersville, with Pastor Ruff as celebrant. Burial followed at Kirkersville Cemetery.

Bill died suddenly Friday morning, January 20, 2012, in Newark. He was born in Lancaster, on December 28, 1945, the son of the late Joseph Hollis and Janice Marie (Burdette) Hanby. He was a graduate of Millersport High School and worked for Worthman company in Columbus for many years.

He was a member of the Pilgrim

Lutheran Church in Granville.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Shirley (Kneller) Hanby, whom he married on July 16, 1966; his children, Leslie (Rod) Coakley of Hebron, Billy (Gloria) Hanby of Crooksville, Joey (Lisa) Hanby of Granville and Susan (Allen) Brown of Crooksville; his grandchildren, Corbin (Amanda), Amanda (Davey), Dillion, Tyler, Kevin, Ashley and Shawn; and his siblings, Bob, Sylvia, Florence, Janet, Kathy and Cindy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack.
