Skies Clear for Hebron Elementary’s First Day of School

HEBRON – While it could’ve just as easily been a soggy return to school for Lake Area students, Wednesday morning showers cleared and a bright, sunny morning welcomed students back after a long summer.

“We’ ve had a wonderful morning,” said Hebron Elementary Principal Dee Martindale. Granted, dismissal can be “a lit tle more crazy” as students find their buses to take them home, but as of noon Wednesday, Martindale’s first day as Hebron Elementar y principal was going smoothly. Martindale, formerly principal of Summit Road Elementary in Reynoldsburg City Schools, replaced former Hebron Elementary principal Marilyn Fox.

Mar tindale said she’s been a Lakewood community member for eight years and was very excited at the opportunity to work within the district. “ Hebron is a wonderful place,” she said, adding that the Hebron Elementary staff has been very supportive of her.

Mar tindale is one of several new Lakewood principals this year. Wednesday was also the first school d ay for A ndy Bow ma n, new Lakewood Middle School principal; and Scott Coffey and Kevin Krier, new principal and assistant principal, respectively, of Lakewood High School.
