MILLERSPORT – Residents still remember 9/11!
Millersport resident Terry Staley organized a prayer walk last Sunday afternoon to commemorate 9/11 on its 15th anniversary and to thank local first responders for their service and dedication to our communities.
The walk was also an opportunity to dedicate the hand-painted mural on the police station, honoring fallen police officers. High school students in the Millersport Art Club under the direction of Sarah Reed recently completed the project. Millersport Hardware donated the paint.
Prayers were led along the walk by Kelvyn Moyer of Millersport UMC, Dave Levacy of Walnut Creek Baptist Church, Steve Bush of Millersport Covenant Church and Stephen Malloy of Victory Apostolic Church.
Debbi Popo of Carleton Realty donated donated thin blue and red line flags to the Millersport Police Department, Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Millersport Fire Department and Thurston-Walnut Township Fire Department. Participants were asked to sign the f lags and books for each department expressing thanks for their service and dedication.
