HEBRON – Courtney Vierstra, a sophomore from Lakewood High School, has recently been selected to compete in the Queen of Diamonds Softball Showcase North at Kent State University on January 3 and 4.
The QDSN – as it is known – is the largest fastpitch softball showcase event of its kind and is the largest in the U.S. This event continues to attract athletes from 21+ states and two Canadian Provinces.
Its’ big brother showcase, the Queen of Diamonds South, is in its 19th season. Both events have over 2,400+ applicants in which 264+ athletes are selected. This showcase is very unique as athletes actually ‘apply to’ this event individually and are selected based on many criteria ranging from ability, potential, academics, graduation year, coaches requests and referrals.
Courtney, a pitcher, plays summer softball for a premier travel team in Ohio, Ohio Lady Lasers. She also plays varsity volleyball, basketball and softball for Lakewood.
