Tough choice for 2007 contest winners

1st Place: Don Bowers • 57 • Baltimore

1st Place: Don Bowers • 57 • Baltimore “Swamp Thing”

BUCKEYE LAKE- It’s a hat trick- -Baltimore’s Don Bowers accomplished his third straight win in The Beacon’s annual Halloween costume contest. As much as The Beacon staff would like to mix it up for first place from year to year, Bowers’ mossy Swamp Thing costume was clearly over the top. Ria Fox’ mad cow outfit moooved into second place and Crystal Mattix took third with her grandma get-up, dentures in hand.

For the kids, Ethan Grum’s first place homemade Coca-Cola polar bear outfit gave us chills, Austin Gleason’s Ray Mysterio came in a strong second, and Maria McCarty was pretty as a picture in her geisha costume. Congratulations to all the winners– for both the adult and the children’s categories, first place wins $40, second wins $25, and third wins $10. We thank everyone who participated and we’ll do our best to display all the photos in upcoming editions of The Beacon.
