Tire collection day set

NEWARK – Got some old tires in your garage or basement or some incubating mosquitoes in your yard?

Licking County residents can get rid of their old tires from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Licking County Highway garage at 775 E. Main St., Newark.

Cost is just $2 per tire for passenger tires and 16 inch to 245 series light truck tires. Semi-truck tires (300-1200 series) are $5 each and tractor/farm equipment tires are $10 each. If the tires are still on the rim, add $1 per tire.

Tires from commercial operations will NOT be accepted. Payments must be made in cash. There is also a limit of ten tires per resident.

All tires will be recycled. The collection day is funded by the Coshocton/Fairfield/Licking/ Perry Solid Waste District. More information is available from the Licking County Recycling and Litter Prevention Program at 670-5125.
