Night Hike- Friday, November 16, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., No reservations needed for this delightful amble in the brisk evening air. We’ll forgo our sense of sight and rely instead on our noses, ears and footfalls to guide us through the grounds. Leave your flashlights at home and experience the exhilaration of being in the forest at night. Free, Visitors Center Deck

Tips for Tots Buckeye Lake. The fun starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 at the Buckeye Lake VFW Post 1388 at Seller’s Point. Great auction items including a 1992 Cadillac, OSU and Harley gear and antiques. All proceeds help brighten Christmas for lake-area children.

Drive-Thru Flu Clinic New Lexington. Come to the Perry County Fairgrounds between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, for the most convenient flushot in the area. Cost is $15 and shots are free for Medicare or Medicaid card holders. Bring your driver’s licentse and wear short of loose fitting sleeves. F. W. de Klerk Denison University, Granville. The former president of South Africa who was instrumental in dismantling that country’s century-old system of apartheid, will speak on Bridging the Gap: Globalization Without Isolation at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Dr.). The lecture is free and open to the public.

Incarceration Nation Denison University, Granville. Marc Mauer of The Sentencing Project, a nonprofit prison reform group, says the United States is an incarceration nation. In a lecture at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Slayter Auditorium (200 Ridge Road), Mauer will address issues of racism, disenfranchisement and social inequality within the criminal justice system. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Anuradha Bhagwati Denison University, Granville. Harris Symposium lecture by Anuradha Bhagwati of the Iraqi Veterans Against the War; 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, Burton Morgan Lecture Hall (150 Ridge Rd.). Free and open to the public.

C-TEC Annual Craft ShowNewark. The Career and Technology Education Center (C-TEC) of Licking County will host its annual craft show on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at 150 Price Road in Newark. There will be a large selection of homemade arts and crafts, collectibles and holiday items. There also will be a variety of foods available for purchase. Admission is $1.

Used Book Sale Newark Public Library. Celebrate Fall with the used book and equipment sale on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The sale will be held next door to the Main Library located at 101 West Main Street, Newark, in the former Spencer Walker Press Building. Printed materials will be sold for $1 per bag. The Library will provide grocery style bags. Audio-visual items (compact discs, DVD’s, videos) and miscellaneous, surplus furniture and equipment will be for sale as priced.

Hi-Lights 2007 Concert Hebron. The Lakewood Lancer Marching Band presents its highenergy indoor stage show featuring all the music and dancing of the biggest rock band in Licking County. Two shows at 8 p.m. on Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 in the Performing Arts Center at Lakewood High School. Tickets are $5. Call the Performing Arts Hotline at 928- 4496 to reserve your seat.

Chicago Children’s ChoirDenison University, Granville. The Vail Series presents the Chicago Children’s Choir; 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive). A limited number of tickets are available to the public at $15 each. Call 740-587-6557 to check on availability.
