Dawes Arboretum – Ohio 13, three miles north of I-70.

Night Hike- Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Free, donations welcome, meet at the Visitors Center Deck, Experience The Arboretum at night! Kids and adults are welcome to attend one of our most popular programs as we hike through collections, grasslands and woodlands.

An Easy Dozen: Trees to Recognize in Winter- Saturday Jan. 23, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, $5 for all—a mid–winter special! Reservation required, meet at the Visitors Center, Crown, bark, buds, twigs, dead leaves, leftover fruits, and growth patterns—all provide clues to help unmask the identity of a dormant tree. Whether you’re seeking a source of firewood, planning a garden, or looking for a pleasant way to spend an afternoon, this class will give you the tools you need to tackle identification of trees in winter.

That’s why The Works is bringing camps together in one place so families can browse while the kids play. Find information about local and regional organizations that offer summer camp activities. Event runs from 12:00 – 4:00 and will be in the museum meeting room.

Denison Theatre – Granville, A year that includes well-known works and a world premiere is on tap for the theatre season at Denison University. The spring season will open with “Shipwrecked! An Entertainment—The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (as told by himself).” Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning Donald Margulies, “Shipwrecked” is inspired by the true story of an unlikely hero who spellbound Victorian England with his incredible tale. “Shipwrecked” will be performed Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19 and 20, and Tuesday through Saturday, Feb. 23-27.

Ruthless! Bearfoot / Missy Raines and the New Hip – Newark, Midland Theatre, Friday, Jan. 15, 8:00 pm, Tickets: $40.00, $30.00, $25.00 and $15.00, 2001 winners of the Telluride Bluegrass Band Contest in 2001, Bearfoot’s exuberant stage presence and youthful freshness elicits an appeal that bridges generations and audiences. Start with bluegrass virtuosity, add in a jazz-tinged groove and a song-driven sensibility, and dish it up with a hot band of young players, and you have a recipe for fresh, zesty music that is Special Guest Missy Raines and the New Hip.

They invite the viewer to gain insight into their hearts thru creative works that allow the viewer to have a small glimpse into their waiting heart, mind and spirits.
