This letter is written as a letter of appreciation to ALL of the wonderful folks who gathered in Hebron on 22 June 2012 to assist our community during the United Way Day of Caring event.
More than 30 volunteers, assisted by village staff, canvassed the village cleaning and painting fire hydrants during the afternoon. The work completed by these many caring individuals helped bring to realization a long overdue project. While it would be very difficult to thank each person in this letter, I am confident they know who they are, and hope this serves to express the gratitude of the entire community for their efforts.
A special thank you to the employers who allowed their staff to participate: Texas Roadhouse, Coldwell Banker/ King Thompson, Meijer and Kaiser Aluminum.
The staff of United Way is to be commended for taking the leadership role in coordinating this effort. Thanks to Lowe’s, Glidden and Kroger for their donations of material and refreshments which were utilized to clean and paint the hydrants and refresh the volunteers!
Lastly, thank you to the village staff and elected officials who made themselves available to assist in this endeavor. Our fire hydrants are much easier for the fire department to see now, and from a maintenance perspective, our public utilities staff can rest assure they are serviceable.
On behalf of the residents of this great village, thank you to all who helped make the United Way Day of Caring a success in Hebron.
