Serving all the communities of the Buckeye Lake Region

Thanks to BLACA & boat parade supporters

Editor:

Once again, I am pleased to report that annual 4th of July Boat Parade was a success and the Buckeye Lake Area Civic Association would like to express our gratitude to all the participants, homeowners and visitors that make the event so much fun!

Just from my location in line, I was able to see a jungle boat, line-dancing on a pontoon, water balloons heading to and from shore and tons of smiling faces. There was singing and guitar playing, great decorations and patriotism as far as the eye could see.

Special thanks to J-Me Braig and the Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society for donating the use of the Queen of the Lake II and for transporting our Grand Marshal, Donna Braig. Both Donna and J-Me have done so much to promote our region and we are very grateful for their participation.

The parade would not be complete without Howard Everitt playing our National Anthem, the VFW Post 1388’s Honor Guard raising the flag and having the Millersport Fire Department leading our procession down the lake. Your efforts are much appreciated and you all did a wonderful job!

BLACA is run by officers and trustees and we all work as a team. Charlie Prince and The Beacon have always helped us get the word out when we have events and I like to consider them part of the BLACA team, so thanks so much for your efforts as well. The Independence Day festivities around Buckeye Lake are something special and I hope that everyone will continue to support events like BLASST and the Boat Parade for many years to come. I truly believe this makes our lake special.

Please help the Civic Association, as we work together to promote and better the lake and surrounding communities. Please visit our website at BuckeyeLakeCivicAssociation.org and feel free to contact us with input regarding the parade or other lake area matters. God Bless!
