This letter is long overdue from my point of view. Having lived in other parts of the state, when I retired I moved to Buckeye Lake Village. And I’m glad I did. It helped to restore my faith in people, and restore our Christmas Spirit.
Recently, my wife and I have gained custody of four of our grandchildren. Since both of us are on Social Security Disability, we have been having a devil of a time making ends meet. But thanks to the CARING folks of the area, we were able to make this Christmas an unforgettable one for the children.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the local businesses and organizations that helped make this Christmas one that my grandkids will remember for a long time.
Our thanks go out to Buckeye Lake LEADS, Buckeye Lake Fire Department for all their wonderful help, Lakewood Schools, Dow Chemical for adopting the kids for Christmas, P E Miller and Associates, Water’s Edge Ministries, and all of the caring people that I can’t remember.
At 62 years of age, I thought I saw it all, from man’s inhumanity to fellow man, to the commercialization of Christmas. The people of OUR Community (and I say it PROUDLY) have given me hope that there indeed are people out there in our community that truly DO care.
Again, THANK YOU all for making this a wonderfully memorable holiday season for all of us.
