I am thankful to have two teenaged sons who are happy, healthy and love their school. I give a lot of credit for that to the Walnut Township Local School District. And that’s why I urge you to vote YES for the levy on August 4th.
I know that no school or teacher is perfect and as a longtime volunteer, I see the district’s strengths and weaknesses up close. But the good always outweighs the bad. I have also seen some pretty amazing things happen in our community. We have raised money to benefit those in need, cooked meals for those recovering and came together for the greater good.
I know kids are in school for an education, but many of them need something fun like music or sports to keep them motivated as well. Plus, there are lots of lessons to be learned outside of the classroom. Throughout their school years my children have had teachers and coaches who challenged, encouraged and inspired them in and out of the school.
The levy is would maintain funding at the current level for programs and potentially restore services, such as high school bussing, that all of our kids want and need.
Please go to the polls on August 4th, vote yes on the school levy, and show your love and support for our children, our school district and our community!
