Serving all the communities of the Buckeye Lake Region

Shop Small Saturday

First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Then starting in 2010, on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving, is Small Business Saturday, a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country.

Small businesses are vitally important to our economy and local communities as these statistics from the U.S. Small Business Administration demonstrate:

• For every year over the last decade, 60 to 80 percent of new jobs were generated by small businesses.

• Small businesses represent 99.7 percent of all employer firms.

• Small businesses employ half of all private sector employees.

Small businesses are the economic backbone of our local communities. They are generous and frequent donors to local benefits and projects. Many provide the first employment opportunities for our children.

They deserve your support year round, not just on Small Business Saturday. Please make a point to shop locally first this Saturday and throughout the year. It’s in your best interest!
