A funeral service, celebrating the life of Shirley J. Boster, 84, of Pataskala, was held February 7, 2017, in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with pastor Steve Dunn as celebrant. Shirley was laid to rest next to her husband, Owen Boster in the Pataskala Cemetery.
She was born December 27, 1932, in St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada, the daughter of Gordon and Lillian (Peddle) Morris. Her Cinderella story started in 1951 when she met her prince charming, Owen Boster. She returned to the United States with him, following his military service. She worked for the Diebold Corporation in Hebron for over 20 years.
Shirley loved to travel, especially trips to Pigeon Forge, was an avid country music fan, and made the best cream puffs you will ever taste.
She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Pam Sasso and her husband John and Cheryl Watson and her husband Mark; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her lifelong best friend, Carol McCarr; and her beloved pet, Cabot.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen in 1995; her son, Gordon Boster in 2016; her brother, William Peddle; and her sister, Evelyn J. Ray.
The family prefers that memorials be directed in her memory to the Licking County
Veterans Alliance, P.O. Box 854, Newark, Ohio 43058-0854.
