Ruth M. Gallagher, 94, of Millersport died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at her home on Buckeye Lake following an extended illness.
She was born July 2, 1915 in Columbus, the daughter of the late Clifford L. and Mabel (Waldren) Tripp.
She was a retired buyer with The Fashion Co. in Columbus. She was a member of the First Community Church at Buckeye Lake. She was a life member of VFW #1388 at Buckeye Lake.
She is survived by her niece, Jan (Tim) Ward of Sunbury; and her nephew, Jeffrey Tripp of Gahanna; great niece, Jennifer (Scott) Stevens; great nephew, Josh Ward; great-great-nieces, Olivia, Viola and Jensen; and great-greatnephews, Noah and David; special loved ones, Rosie and Jim Bigler, Ruthie O’Connor (her namesake), Sheila Lyons, Tom Zimmer, Judy VanOster, Linda Florence and Judy Tucker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Doc” Gallagher in 1986; her brother, Richard; and her sisters, Edna and Dorothy.
A graveside funeral service celebrating her life was held on Saturday, Dec. 12 in the Millersport Cemetery, Pastor David Moody officiating.
