Ronald L. Jackson




A memorial service celebrating the life of Ronald L. Jackson, age 69, of Baltimore, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street, Kirkersville, where the family will receive friends from 11 am-1 pm prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Baltimore where military honors will be observed.

Ron was born on January 2, 1948, in Lancaster. He died at his home on August 12, 2017, surrounded by his family, following a six month battle with Glioblastoma.

Ron was a 1966 graduate of Liberty Union High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy, faithfully serving his country in Vietnam. Ron was employed for 42 years at Ohio Paperboard as a machine operator and later a supervisor. He was respected by his co-workers for his work ethic and fairness.

Ron was a Boy Scout leader with Troop 187 from 1980-94 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a Liberty Union Music Booster and supporter for eight years and a member of the Baltimore VFW Post #3761.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Foltz) Jackson, whom he married March 31, 1973. Ron and Linda recently celebrated their life together by renewing their vows. He is also survived by children, Brian (Cristi Bartholic) and Courtney (Dan) Taubken; grandchildren, Lucas and Makenzi Jackson and Elizabeth, Gabriella and Charlotte Taubken; his father, Ralph Jackson; sisters, Beth Jackson and Chris (John) Davies; brother, Jeff Jackson; mother-in-law, Caroline Foltz; four nieces and two nephews; and devoted brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who loved him.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte (Turner) Jackson; father-in-law, Everett Foltz; and grandparents, Owen and Cora Bell Jackson and Harley and Mary Turner.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Vitas Health Care nurse Kelly, Dr. Javier Gonzalez and staff at The James Spine and Brain Center, Basil Joint Fire Department and friends at the coffee shop for the outpouring of love and prayers during the past six months.
