Robert R. Hoover

Robert R. Hoover, age 74, died peacefully May 1, 2017. He was born September 30, 1942, in Columbus, to the late Henry and Pearl Hoover. Robert served our country as a member of the US Army. Robert was a retired working mason, and retired from the New Albany School Systems. He was a former active member of the Gahanna VFW. Robert was very passionate about working with children and his love for animals. He was a quiet man, with a great sense of humor. Robert was a loving and caring family man; he enjoyed spoiling and spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, William “Skip” and Charles Hoover. Robert is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Marlene; son, Eric E. (Lynda) Jayjohn; grandchildren, Vonda (Michael) Fichera, Eric R. (Kimberly) Jayjohn and Elizabeth (John) Wadkins; great-grandchildren, Hunter Ellinger, Adleigh and Lauren Jayjohn, and Thomas Wadkins (June 2017); special friend, Michael Evans; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was May 6, 2017, at the Bloom Baptist Church, Lithopolis, officiated by Pastor Mike O’Bryant. Interment followed at Lithopolis Cemetery.
