Robert L. Thompson




A private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville for Robert L. Thompson, 90, of Hebron. Robert passed away peacefully at his home April 1, 2017. He was born in Granville to the late George and Helen (Vogel) Thompson.

A retired electrical engineer from North American Aviation, Robert honorably served his country aboard the Minesweeper YMS-348 during WWII. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Granville, member of the Buckeye Lake VFW Post 1388, Am Vets, and a 65 year member of Center Star Lodge #11 F&AM.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Dorothea L. “Dot” (Orndoff); daughters, Robin L. and Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Thompson; son, Timothy J. “T.J.” (Audra Hudson) Thompson; step-daughter, Linda L. Moreland; step-sons, Danny L., Jeffery S. and Christopher L. Webster; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister.
