Robert E. “Bob” Holderle

Robert E. “Bob” Holderle, 75, of Baltimore, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at home.

He was a retired teacher and coach of Columbus Public Schools, teaching at Franklin Junior, Marion Franklin and Walnut Ridge High Schools. He served 31 years in education. He was a graduate of South High School, Class of 1950; and Capitol University, Class of 1955. He served two years in U.S. Army. He played amateur softball and basketball for various teams in Columbus during the 1950s, was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Canal Winchester, Baltimore Lodge No. 475 F&AM and Schoolmasters Bowling League.

He is survived by sons, Ron Holderle of Baltimore and Stephen Holderle of Laurelville; daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Richard Leindecker of Buckeye Lake, and Laurine and David Kusko of Pataskala; grandchildren, Ashley and Cory Leindecker; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Elizabeth (Becker) Holderle; wife, Lois (Dowler) Holderle; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, 28 Elm St., Canal Winchester, with Pastor Curtis D. Emerson officiating. Interment will be at Union Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to Peace Christian Center, c/o Peace Lutheran Church, 28 Elm St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110, for new kitchen and fellowship hall.
