On Wednesday, September 2, the Millersport Lions Club will host the 69th Annual Sweet Corn Festival Grand Parade. We are pleased to announce that Gary Reinschell will lead the parade on the Commodore Bank float as this year’s Grand Marshal.
Gary is being honored for his 50 years of unselfish service as one of our electricians for the Sweet Corn Festival. He was asked back in 1965 by then General Chairman Al Francis about helping the legendary Roger Benson install and lay out the electrical grid system of the fast developing Historic Lions Park soon after the Festival had moved off of the streets of Millersport.
Most of the current buildings, field lighting and power distribution system has been developed thanks in part to his line workmanship. Many times over the past five decades he has had to travel from his home in Lancaster during snow storms, thunderstorms and high winds to help restore power to the 100 acre park.
Gary’s unwavering support and dedication has made a difference in the success and growth of the Sweet Corn Festival. So on September 2 we hope you will join us in recognizing Gary Reinschell as the Grand Marshal for the 2015 Sweet Corn Festival Grand Parade when it kicks off at 6:00 p.m.
