Traditionally, letters to the editor are from a reader who wants to communicate with all the other readers of the newspaper. This is a non-traditional letter from the readers to you, the editor and publisher, Charles Prince.
The Buckeye Lake Beacon is a mainstay in our community. The Beacon brings together the separate communities in four townships located in three counties. We are beneath the notice of the big city papers and The Beacon fills our need for local news.
The Beacon is where we read about what happens in council meetings, good things occurring in our local schools and specials at local businesses. The Community Calendar gives us information that is not available anywhere else. We are all grateful for your investigative journalism and reports on items of concern with the dam project. Space is limited, or we could generate a lengthy list of the features we love, like the annual April Fool’s Day issue.
Whether The Beacon is paper or electronic, its benefits will remain constant. We will work with you through the transition process and look forward to the brand-new robust website for the Buckeye Lake Beacon. Charlie, we thank you for the many years of service and the generosity you have shown to the residents and businesses of the Buckeye Lake Region.
We are wishing you every success. In fact, we’ll depend on it.
