During my years serving as the Village Administrator for Hebron, I also served as Hebron’s representative to the County organization known as LCATS (Licking County Area Transportation Study). During that time the LCATS Director and I put forth a proposal to extend a path from downtown Hebron south to the Municipal Water facility. The proposal was supported by the Hebron Council at that time. Major funding for the project was to come from several government agencies with some funding from Hebron.
As the years went by, the project moved steadily upward on the approved projects list through LCATS and approximately four years ago the Engineer was selected and the design was begun.
It is with pride and enthusiasm that I now see the project coming to fruition. From the beginning we felt that getting the children on foot and bicycles off of south High street and out of a dangerous situation was a major priority.
Clearly, the Hebron Council has continued to pursue this project with funding and support in the years since my retirement. I offer my sincere congratulations to the Hebron elected officials for their persistence and good judgement in providing this wonderful project for the residents of our village.
GREAT JOB HEBRON!
