Buckeye Lake

• June 18: A Lakeside Diner employee reported that someone stole money from the cash register.

• June 18: A Walnut Road woman reported someone broke into her camper and stole a battery operated fan. It was a very warm day.

• June 18: Police were advised to watch for a Walnut Road woman who drove away from home after threatening suicide. She was located near Thornville.

• June 21: An officer assisted Hebron Police in locating a person who was intentionally hiding. The person was located.

• June 21: There was an alarm drop at Red Cables Used Cars. It was a false alarm.

• June 22: A boy’s bicycle was recovered at the Buckeye Lake Truck Stop.

• June 24: A Dutchess Shop employee said a customer left without paying for $51.61 in gasoline.

• June 24: An officer was dispatched to a West 1st Street home on an active domestic violence call. An argument between a mother and son became violent. The son was charged with domestic violence.

Hebron

• May 6: Police on patrol at 12:31 a.m. found several open doors and an open garage at the Cumberland Meadows construction site. Police checked the buildings and secured all the doors.

• May 6: Police assisted the Licking County Sheriff’s Office with a male subject causing problems with the night clerk at the Speedway station.

• May 6: Police were called about a person using drugs outside a Broadway apartment building. The man was actually smoking a cigar and offered to let police search him. Police accepted the offer and he checked OK.

• May 6: A Kelly Drive mother said her son was assaulted by a known person after school. She just wanted police to document the incident.

• May 7: Police were called about two suspicious person on Greenbriar Lane at 1:19 a.m. One man tried to go inside when he saw police arrive. Police said he appeared intoxicated. He and a friend were eventually charged with underage consumption.

• May 7: A Hebron Road mobile home resident said his girlfriend left and took several of his possessions.

• May 8: A driver was cited for speed and driving under suspension after a traffic stop on Ohio 79.

• May 8: Police responded to an alarm drop at the Duke station. It was accidentally tripped.

Kirkersville

• June 6: Police cited a Pickerington woman for travelling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.

• June 6: Police saw a Newark man swerving and driving 45 mph in a 35 mph zone. Police noticed a strong smell of alcohol on his person. Police said he failed a field sobriety test. He blew a .178 on a BAC test. He was cited for OVI, spped, failing to wear his seatbelt and failure to maintain marked lanes.

• June 6: A Flying J employee told police that a woman had locked her keys in her vehicle there and had fallen asleep on the sidewalk in front of the store. When police arrived she was sleeping in the lounge. She said she had been drinking at the VIP Lounge in Pataskala and was heading to Pataskala when she locked her keys in her car. AAA towed her car home when she couldn’t locate the keys in the car. Police later learned that her keys were found hanging in a restroom stall.

• June 8: A Groveport man was warned for excessive speed. Police cited him for failing to wear his seatbelt and possessing drug paraphernalia and marijuana. His vehicle was towed after he told police he didn’t have any vehicle insurance.

• June 8: A Heath woman was warned for travelling 49 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.

• June 8: A Zanesville woman was cited for driving 81 mph in a 65 mph zone.

• June 8: A Kettering woman was cited for travelling 84 mph in a 65 mph zone.

• June 8: Police warned a Columbus man for an equipment violation.

• June 8: Police responded to a report of two men in black clothing at the back door of Park National Bank. Police found the building secure and no one in the area.

• June 18: A Columbus man was cited for travelling 49 mph in a 35 mph zone.

• June 18: A Newark woman was cited for going 80 mph in a 65 mph zone.

• June 18: A Columbus woman was warned for travelling 77 mph in a 65 mph zone.

• June 20: Police arrested a Kirkersville resident on a warrant for forgery filed by Lancaster Police. He was taken to the county line and turned over to Lancaser Police.

• June 20: Police stopped a Lancaster man for several equipment violations and said he told them that he didn’t have insurance. He was cited for having just one headlight and his vehicle was impounded.

• June 20: A Pataskala man told police he had been struck on his head with a beer bottle, requiring three staples. He said he wanted to file charges against his assailant.

• June 21: Police stopped a Hebron man for an obstructed license plate. Police discovered that he had an open container of beer and did not have a valid driver’s license. The license plates on his vehicle had also been altered.

• Police participated in the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign which ran from May 19 to June 1. During that time, police issued seven citations for failing to use seatbelts, 16 for excessive speed, nine other moving violations, and three for suspended or revoked driver’s licenses. Officers worked 42 hours and made 78 traffic stops during the campaign.

Millersport

• June 16: Police assisted the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office in a search for a hit-skip vehicle that struck a pedestrian in Lancaster. The vehicle was located in Thurston by deputies. The woman struck died the next day.

• June 18: Police worked with Hebron Police to locate and serve a woman who wrote $200 in bad checks at the Valero station.

• June 18: Police assisted the Millersport Fire Department with a fire across from Liebs Island Road.

• June 20: Police took a report of damage to property on Lynn Avenue that involved a juvenile and a BB gun.

• June 20: Police issued a traffic violation warning at Chautauqua and Lancaster streets.

• June 20: Police were dis- patched to a Lancaster Street home on a report of a domestic disturbance. No was one charged.

• June 21: Police issued one warning and four citations for excessive speed. The citaations were issued for exceeding the posted limit by 14, 15, 16, and 19 mph.

• June 21: Police took a report on the theft of a bike in the 4th Avenue area. The bicycle was a bright green Vision Hyper HRR 26 with a lock wrapped around the top part of the handlebars.

• June 22: Police checked out a suspicious person at East Park Street and Firehouse Alley. The person checked out OK.

Thornville

• May 19: Police stopped a vehicle with fictitious license plates and discovered the driver possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• May 20: Police cited the driver of a box truck that struck a road sign and the awning at the Thornville Pharmacy.

• May 20: A driver was warned for excessive speed and cited for failure to wear a seat belt.

• May 20: A Newark man was cited for exceeding the speed limit by 18 mph.

• May 20: A Somerset man was cited for travelling 52 mph in a 35 mph zone on South Church Street at Clum Drive.

• May 22: A Zanesville woman was warned for failure to display license plates and cited for not wearing a seat belt.

• May 22: A Baltimore man was warned for excessive speed on West Columbus Street and cited for not wearing a seat belt.
