Buckeye Lake

• July 1: A driver was cited for a faulty license plate light on his vehicle. The driver said he had no insurance on the vehicle because he just purchased it and it was not titled to him yet.

• July 1: Police responded to an alarm drop at the Family Dollar store. Area was secure.

• July 1: Police stopped a vehicle with a cracked windshield and found the driver had a warrant for his arrest out of Lancaster and was under child support suspension.

• July 1: A Walnut Road woman was arrested on a felony warrant out of Licking County.

• July 1: Police responded to an alarm drop at a Buckeye Lake bank. Employees said they were in training and testing all the bank’s systems. Apparently, the alarm works.

• July 2: Police checked out a report of a man causing a disturbance on Union Avenue. The officer found the man was on a cell phone in his front yard, yelling at his landlord.

• July 2: Police responded to a report of a fight in Louie’s Corner House. The fight had ended when the officer arrived and no one at the scene wanted to press charges.

• July 3: A Myers Avenue woman said her brother was intoxicated and threatening to drive somewhere. She took his keys from him but wanted an officer to talk to him. The officer told the man he would be arrested for drunk driving if he attempted to drive somewhere. The brother then said he would walk to a bar. The officer told him he would be arrested for public intoxication if he left the house. The brother agreed just to go to sleep.

• July 3: A Columbus man said someone stole his kayak from a Buckeye Lake dock. The Division of Watercraft was notified as well.

• July 3: A Stewart Avenue woman said someone dropped off a cat and four kittens at her doorstep.

• July 3: A Pataskala woman said her car was stolen in Heath. Police learned that she agreed to sell the car, but the buyer only made a partial payment. She was advised it was a civil matter, but encouraged to report the incident to Heath Police.

• July 3:Police investigated a report of aggressive, barking dogs at large. Owner was cited for allowing the dogs to be loose and warned to obtain tags for the dogs immediately.

• July 3: A diver was cited for not having tags on a boat trailer.

• July 3: Police were dispatched to a cornfield on a report of a man was screaming for help. The officer learned the man had been in a fistfight earlier that night and passed out in the cornfield following the fight. The man was transported to the Licking County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and assault.

• July 4: Police assisted the Licking County Sheriff’s Office with a man who claimed someone poisoned his food with mercury. A Hebron squad evaluated the man, who was transported to Licking Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

• July 4: Two drivers were each cited for traveling 50 in a 35 miles per hour zone.

• July 4: A driver was cited for traveling 52 in a 35 miles per hour zone.

• July 5: Police assisted Hebron Police in apprehending a subject who was located at the North Shore boat ramp.

• July 5: A driver was cited for traveling 52 in a 35 miles per hour zone.

• July 4: A driver was cited for traveling 46 in a 35 miles per hour zone.

• July 5: Police assisted the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office by responding to a report of a couple arguing loudly in Millersport.

• July 5: Police discovered an intoxicated man emerging from a bus stop shelter, who tried to enter the police cruiser, thinking it was a cab. The man also admitted to urinating in a public space. The man said he was trying to return home. The man was transported to the Econolodge and cited for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

• July 5: Police responded to an alarm drop at the Barrel Bar. Area was secure.
