Buckeye Lake

• Jan. 7: A Walnut Road man reported his 19-year-old son missing. The son was later located.

• Jan. 7: A Newark man said someone stole property from his vehicle when it was parked in Buckeye Lake Village.

• Jan. 10: Another Newark man said someone stole property from his vehicle when it was parked in Buckeye Lake Village.

• Jan. 10: A Walnut Road resident said a man who was legally banned from her property wrote her a disparaging note, stuck it into a glove, and threw the glove into her yard.

• Jan. 12: A juvenile was caught shoplifting from the Family Dollar.

Hebron

• Dec. 23: A McDonalds’ manager called at 4:46 a.m. about arriving to open for the day and finding an open door. Police searched the restaurant. Everything was OK.

• Dec. 24: Police stopped a driver on Ohio 79 for a lines and lanes violation. Police found the driver was under suspension. The driver was cited for both violations.

• Dec. 24: Police took a report after a motorist left the Duke station without paying for $10.01 of gasoline.

• Dec. 24: Police took a report and photos after a Dennison Street mailbox was hit and torn out of the ground.

• Dec. 25: Police were called to a reported active domestic dispute at an Elm Street apartment. The complainant and her ex-husband were having a dispute about custody.

• Dec. 26: A driver was cited for going 69 mph in a 50 mph zone on Ohio 79 at US 40.

• Dec. 27: A driver was cited for going 64 mph in a 50 mph zone on Ohio 79 at US 40.

• Dec. 27: Police were called to the Kroger store about a road rage incident. The complainant said a red car pulled out in front of her on Ohio 79 by the Speedway station. She said she beeped her horn at the man driving who proceeded to yell obscenities at her and tried to get her to pull over. He followed her to the Kroger store where he circled the lot twice and then left. She provided a license plate number that came back to a village resident. Police went there and saw the described vehicle. The driver was warned.

• Dec. 27: A Hamilton Avenue resident complained about long distance charges on her phone bill that she didn’t authorize. She told police that the phone company said the person making the calls also lived on Hamilton Avenue. She doesn’t know the other person.

Police are investigating.

• Dec. 27: A North Street man complained that his separated wife came tog et her property from their garage. He wanted to know if anything could be done. Police told him that since they are still married she has rights to the property at anytime.

• Dec. 28: A South High Street woman complained that her exboyfriend and his fiancé were sending her harassing text messages. Police told the new couple to stop.

• Dec. 29: Police took a report of two male subjects seen running from a West O’Neill Drive parking lot. Police learned a wallet and two binders were missing from an unlocked vehicle on the lot. Police located the suspects who allegedly confessed to the theft. Everything was recovered except for two credit cards. Charges are pending.

• Dec. 29: Police stopped a vehicle on South High Street for a lines and lanes violation. The driver was ultimately cited for that and OVI. Police said he admitted to taking Vicodin from his mother and using.

• Dec. 31: A driver was cited for going 71 mph in a 50 mph zone on Ohio 79 at Enterprise Drive.

• Jan. 1: A Greenbriar Lane resident returned from working out-of-state to discover that his flat screen TV is missing. He told police that he is going through a divorce and his soon-to-be exwife was present. She denied knowing anything about the whereabouts of the TV.

• Jan. 1: Police on patrol in Evans Park saw a blacked out vehicle next to a building. The driver said he was looking for some money in the trunk. Since the driver appeared so nervous, police asked for permission to search is vehicle. He consented and the search didn’t turn anything up. He was told that the park closed at dusk.
