Buckeye Lake

• Nov. 8: An officer was dispatched to an assault call with firearms involved. A West 1st Street man admitted to having the gun and threatening his stepfather’s neighbor with it. The man was charged with aggravated menacing. The stepfather said problems arose when his neighbor began throwing leaves onto his property and vehicle. The neighbor thought the stepfather was dumping leaves on his property first and the ensuing argument became physical. The officer believed the stepfather and the neighbor provoked one another and each was charged with assault.

Hebron

• Oct. 13: Police were called at 12:22 a.m. about someone causing a disturbance in a vehicle at Basin and Broadway streets. Police found a tractor trailer on Basin that was blocking Broadway. The driver was heading to the end of Basin to park his rig when it broke down. Police took him the truck had to be moved and called a wrecker for him.

• Oct. 13: Police arrested a woman detained at Krogers for shoplifting. She was released with a summons to court.

• Oct. 14: Police took a report and are investigating the theft of about $500 worth of DVDs from the Kroger store.

• Oct. 15: Police were called to a Kelly Drive home on a female subject that had forced her way into the residence and was now leaving heavily intoxicated. The caller described her vehicle. Police saw the vehicle as it crossed West Main Street and were able to get it stopped on Thornwood Drive. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI. She was processed and then released on the OVI charge. Police tried but were unable to get a statement from the Kelly Drive resident on her actions there before she was released on the OVI charge. That incident is still under investigation.

• Oct. 15: A Mound Street resident requested extra patrols past her home after she testified that morning in court against her sister.

• Oct. 15: A driver was cited for a stop sign violation on West 2nd Street at Cumberland Street.

• Oct. 15: A manager at Buckeye Outdoors reported that a named subject was harassing an employee. He wanted the area checked. Everything checked OK.

• Oct. 17: A Broadway apartment resident reported that someone threw her daughter’s bike into the creek. Police took a report to document the damage to the bike.

• Oct. 17: A driver was cited for going 64 mph in a 50 mph zone on Ohio 79 at US 40.

• Oct. 17: Police took a report on a drive away at the Duke station.

• Oct. 18: Police on patrol at 12:35 a.m. found an office chair on the black top next to the playground behind the elementary school. The building and area checked secure.

• Oct. 18: A West Main Street woman reported the theft of eight garbage bags of shoes from her side yard.

• Oct. 18: A Hebron Road trailer park resident called police because a verbal argument with a woman was getting out of hand. There was no physical violence and the complainant had his mother come pick him up.

• Oct. 19: Police stoodby as a father picked up his son after he was granted temporary custody.

• Oct. 19: Police took a report after a driver left the Duke station without paying for fuel.

• Oct. 20: Police took a report after a Park National Bank customer defrauded the bank of $250.

• Oct. 20: Police were called to a Hamilton Avenue home on a report of a man threatening to harm himself and family members. Police said the man was cooperative and agreed to let police take him to the hospital to talk to a professional.

• Oct. 20: Police were called to Harry & David on a civil matter and discovered the male subject was wanted on several warrants. He was arrested and turned over to deputies who had also responded to the scene. They took him to jail.

• Oct. 20: Charges are pending after a Buckeye Lake man told police his two brothers assaulted him at Brad’s Recycling.

• Oct. 20: A driver was cited for going 65 mph in a 50 mph zone on Ohio 79 at US 40.

• Oct. 21: Police found a dog with a dragging a broken chain outside the police department at 1:40 a.m. Police drove around trying to find the dog’s owner before dropping it off at the animal shelter’s 24-hour drop-off facility.

• Oct. 21: Police picked up a subject arrested by the Fairifield Coounty Sheriff’s Office on a Hebron warrant for failure to appear. He was taken to jail.

• Oct. 22: A driver was cited for going 65 mph in a 50 mph zone on Ohio 79 at US 40.

• Oct. 22: A driver was cited for going 54 mph in a 35 mph zone on East Main Street at Dennison Street.

• Oct. 23: A Heath man running a football league at Evans Park told police he was having difficulty in collecting $340 in raffle ticket sales from a volunteer. He didn’t want to press charges, but did want to collect the money. Police called the volunteer who agreed to pay the money before noon that day. The complainant later told police that he had received full payment before the deadline.

• Oct. 23: Police were called to the Duke station on a report of a driver leaving without paying for fuel. The security video showed the driver swiping a credit card and the clerk aid the card was accepted. However, that approval ‘timed out’ because it took the driver so long to pump the gas. Police found the vehicle at a Forest Ridge address. The juvenile driver’s parents agreed to go and pay for the fuel. The store manager confirmed payment.

• Oct. 23: A passerby stopped at the police station to report that an elderly man was locked out of his vehicle at the Kroger store. Police headed to the store and were flagged down by a man who said he was able to get the man in his vehicle.

• Oct. 23: Police were called about two juveniles entering a vacant home on Kelly Drive. Police saw two juveniles playing basketball in the driveway. The complainant then said she only saw them in the driveway and not entering the house. Police asked them to take their game to the elementary school or Evans Park.

• Oct. 24: Police on patrol at 2:28 a.m. saw a vehicle in the McDonalds lot with a flat tire. The vehicle was also left unlocked. Police secured the vehicle and checked the building and area. Everything checked OK.

• Oct. 24: Police saw a motorist driving out of a ditch at Ohio 79 and Enterprise Drive. Police stopped the vehicle to see if everything was OK. Police discovered the driver was intoxicated and charged him with OVI.
