Buckeye Lake

• Sept. 4: A driver was cited for traveling 50 in a 35 miles per hour zone on Mill Dam Road.

• Sept. 4: A driver was cited for traveling 50 in a 35 miles per hour zone on Mill Dam Road.

• Sept. 4: A driver was cited for traveling 52 in a 35 miles per hour zone on Mill Dam Road.

• Sept. 4: A 5th Street woman said she heard a crash in her house. She investigated and witnessed a person exit her home through a window and run north along Ohio 79.

• Sept. 5: A Leroy Street man said he loaned a video game system to a friend, and the system was stolen from the friend’s house.

• Sept. 6: Officer heard the Licking County Sheriff’s Office dispatch a deputy to a Buckeye Lake trailer park on a suspicious vehicle and person alert. A Newark man claimed he had park manager’s permission to enter the trailer park and remove “scrap metal.” The items removed were actually steel concrete forms used in pouring concrete. The park manager said she gave no such permission. The man finally admitted he didn’t have permission to remove the items. Green Lawn Companies, who owns the steel concrete forms, requested theft charges against the Newark man.

• Sept. 7: A Duke service station employee reported a customer left without paying for $38 in gasoline.

Hebron

• Aug. 11: Police on patrol warned a resident for not having her dog on a leash.

• Aug. 11: A motorist was cited for going 65 mph in a 50 mph zone on Ohio 79 at US 40.

• Aug. 11: Police took a report after a Buckeye Lake man said his vehicle was struck in the Kroger parking lot.

• Aug. 11: A Thornville woman reported a theft from her vehicle while is was parked at a Canal Road address.

• Aug. 12: Police on patrol at 2:56 a.m. saw two bikes parked along the roadway on Parks Street. Police saw a flashlight shining in the backyard of a South 5th Street home. A 19-year-old man told police he was looking for his dog. Police told him he was trespassing. Police contacted the resident who then checked his garage. He said several items had been moved. The incident is still under investigation.

• Aug. 12: Police were called to South 5th Street home on a report of a theft. A witness said he saw a man steal rims from behind an East Main Street home. He described the suspects vehicle and provided a partial license plate number. Police identified the vehicle as belonging to a Canal Road apartment resident. Police spoke to the vehicle owner and her boyfriend. They both denied stealing anything and said they had been eating breakfast at the boyfriend’s mother’s home in Buckeye Lake.

• Aug. 12: Police were asked to watch Ohio 79 for a vehicle involved in a Fairfield County burglary. The vehicle was found in Buckeye Lake Village.

• Aug. 12: Police were called about an alarm sounding in the post office. Police discovered that someone had pulled the fire alarm. An employee was dispatched to reset the alarm.

• Aug. 13: Police arrested a woman detained for shop lifting at Krogers. She was released on an own recognizance bond.

• Aug. 14: Police took a report after a driver left the Duke station without paying for $31.81 worth of gasoline.

• Aug. 14: Police arrested a woman detained for shop lifting at the Kroger store. She was taken to jail.
