The Hebron Kroger store sponsored a chili contest Nov. 5 to raise money for Licking County
United Way. Nine organizations and businesses volunteered to participate: Hometown Deli,
T. C. Weiser Construction, Fred Harris/Kirkersville United Methodist Church, Clay’s Cafe,
Jonathan Taylor/Edward Jones, Scott Walters/Crossroads Floral, Hebron United Methodist
Church, Dale Scheidegger Pump Service and Kelin Wilkins. Hebron Village Administrator
Mike McFarland and two
Hebron firefighters served
as judges. Hometown Deli’s
white chili with chicken
took first place honors,
followed by T. C. Weiser
Construction. Cups were
sold for a $1 to lunchtime
Kroger customers raising
more than $200 for United
Way. Kroger associates
pledged another $1,700
through payroll deductions.
