Two Licking County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers will be on duty daily when Lakewood students return from Spring Break on April 2. Sheriff Randy Thorp announced Wednesday that Deputies Joe Harvey and Mike Crider have been selected for the new assignment. Lakewood Superintendent Mary Kay Andrews and Director of District Services Patti Pickering participated in the final interviews Wednesday morning. “We are thrilled to welcome Deputy Harvey and Deputy Crider to the Lakewood family and appreciate the collaboration with the Sheriff’s Department in allowing us to be a part of the process,” Andrews said. Earlier Thorp said, “We appreciate this collaborative effort and look forward to our relationship with the students, staff and community of the Lakewood Local School District.” Deputy Harvey has been assigned to the Detective Division and is a Firearms Range Instructor. Deputy Crider lives in the Lakewood community and has been serving as the CALEA Accreditation Manger assigned to the Community Services Division.
