The Nellie Sheridan Wilson Heritage Committee offered two Bird Garden Vignettes via drawings at the recent Perry County Home & Garden Show at the fairgrounds. Winners were Pat Shade of Buckeye Lake and Wilma Pickrell of New Lexington. The Committee raised $240 at the show to help fund a statue of Nellie on the Somerset Square. The group still needs to come up with another $11,800 for the project. Upcoming fund-raising events include the sale of personalized engraved bricks to be placed on the historic Somerset Courthouse Plaza, tours of the Holy Trinity Cemetery and Somerset Cemetery by historians Rob Dishon and Beth Santore, and a yard sale on Saturday, September 23rd near Pigfoot Square in Somerset at the Reichley residence.
