The Perry County Sheriff’s Office now has a K-9 unit. Argo is half German Shepard and half Belgianmalinois. Above from left to right is handler Sgt. David Briggs, Argo and Sheriff William Barker. Argo will be used to detect illegal drugs in vehicles and schools, and to track and locate criminal suspects. Barker has set up a Perry County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Fund. Contributions can be mailed to P.O. Box 107, New Lexington 43764. Lake area donations have come from AMVETS Post 51, Sons of AMVETS, AMVETS Honor Guard, Backwoods Fest, Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge, The Shelly Company, The Toy Company, Thorn Township Firefighters and Thornville Pharmacy.
