Paul “Punky” Gant

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Paul “Punky” Gant, 58, of Hebron, was held January 18, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Heath, with his pastor, Jon Emory as celebrant. Burial followed . in Kirkersville Cemetery.

He died January 13, 2010, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice care center at Licking Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born in Mineral Wells W.V., on January 20, 1951, the son of the late Gerald and Rosa (Board) Gant. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School, Class of 1969, and worked at the Boeing Corp. in Heath. He was a member of the New Life Baptist Church at Thornville. He loved his family, enjoyed NASCAR football. He was described by his family


as being able to do anything, rebuilding cas and remodeling homes. He never met a stranger, was extremely patient with others and never said “no” to his granddaughter. He was also the family mechanic for everybody. He was also well known for his elaborate Christmas decorations.

He is survived by his loving family: His wife, the former Debra Kirkpatrick, whom he married in 1971; his sons, Joe (Tammy) of Millersport and Chad (Kathy) of Buckeye Lake; his granddaughter Ciara; his eleven brothers and sisters: Roland, Nolan (Carla), Gary (Mary), David (Lola), Tim (Diane), Gerald Jr. (Judy), Shirley Erikson, Sharon Gant, Margaret Gant, Mary (Charlie) Campbell and Susie (Dennis) Brigman
