I want to thank all the residents supporting Patients 1st at the May 23 public meeting on the fire department. Maybe now our mayor and council members will realize that it isn’t just a handful of us that wants a change in our EMS services.
Just look at the recent house fire on Worth Drive that was reported as people trapped. Hebron was about two miles further away but still beat Buckeye Lake to scene even when we had two people on station. I understand that in total only three Buckeye Lake firefighters made it to that fire. Thanks Hebron.
Two days later Hebron answered the call to help a stoke victim at the North Shore boat ramp. Buckeye Lake waited nearly six minutes on the scene before asking Hebron for help.
We need to get the word out to our families and friends that patients must come first. We need to contract with Hebron. The money is there and it will actually cost us less than what we are spending now. It’s a no-brainer!
