Parents proud of Millersport Marching Lakers

Editor:

The Millersport Marching Lakers, under the direction of Noelle Harkabus, participated in the University of Toledo Band Day on Sept. 29. The Marching Lakers joined 13 other high school bands for the half-time show during the Toledo Rockets football game. Each school got the opportunity earlier in the day to showcase their half-time show. Millersport was the first to perform and received a stadium-wide standing ovation from more than 1,800 students, faculty and parents in the stands. Ms. Harkabus received compliments from several other band directors on how well the band performed for being so small.

The entire Millersport community should be very proud of the Marching Lakers. Ms. Harkabus has done a tremendous job since coming to Millersport three years ago. This year’s band has only 25 members, but sounds like a much larger band.

They also recently took home a first place trophy at the Jackson County Apple Festival parade for the 35 and under division. The band is also performing at the FairfieldCounty Fair Band Day, Oct. 11; Newark Band Competition on Oct. 20; and he Circleville Pumpkin Show Parade, Oct. 17. They wrap up their season with a highlights concert open to everyone on Friday, Nov. 3, at the Millersport Elementary School.

Come check out the small, but mighty Millersport Marching Lakers. Congratulations again to Ms. Harkabus and the Marching Lakers.
