Oktoberfest in Somerset

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 28th!  Oktoberfest starts at noon in Somerset on Pigfoot Square and is located at the intersection of State Route 22 and Market Street. The Perry County Historical and Cultural Arts Society will once again be hosting the event.

Somerset Artists’ Cooperative will participate in the activities with various local artists giving demonstrations in many different mediums throughout the day.  They will also offer free tile painting for children from 3-5PM. Don’t forget to travel one block down from Pigfoot Square to 206 South Market Street to visit the Co-Op’s studio and gift shop.  Over 30 different artists have their creations for sale.  Learn more about classes offered at the cooperative for both adults and children.  Shop hours are from noon to 4pm.  Jewelry, greeting cards, pottery, rag rugs, candles, stained glass, turned wood items, handcrafted clocks, paintings, stitched kitchen accessories, and books by local authors are just some of the many items for sale.

Be a part of the second annual Somerset Pub Crawl! Participating establishments include The Clay Haus Restaurant & Rathskellar, Strong & Company, Wannabees, and Somerset American Legion.  Purchase a locally made clay stein at one of the locations and visit all of them from 6PM on for Oktoberfest specials. We hope you will join us in helping support this local event and enjoy your day in Somerset.
