McFire- The Hebron McDonald’s closed virtually all day Tuesday after a small fire ignited in the kitchen around 6:15 a.m. Hebron Fire Chief Randy Weekly said there were no injuries and no permanent damage, but the restaurant was closed to clean up after the fire and allow smoke to escape the ventilation system. “It was no biggie, really,” he said. “It was hit with a fire extinguisher and it was out.” Hebron McDonald’s Supervising Manager Lee Jones said the restaurant re-opened on schedule at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday with no problems. “We’re all good now,” she said. “It could’ve been a lot worse.” Beacon photo by Scott Rawdon.
