In an effort to keep residents informed we would like to discuss our short range and midrange goals.
First, we will not receive any earned income tax money until July 1, 2016. Second, our immediate goals are a) Repair the fire hydrant on South Bank Road; b) Loop the waterline at 3rd Street; c) Identify and construct catch basins around Gift Street; and d) Clean the existing catch basins so water flow is consistent and water is not sitting on the roads.
Third, Water Superintendent John Wood has developed a plan with our engineers to replace the iron filter which is causing part of the issue with discolored water. We need to follow the bid process and the Ohio EPA guidelines and we are looking at a 60 to 90 day window for that to happen.
Fourth, we are again working with the Ohio District of the United Pentecostal Church to open the pool in 2016. Fifth, we are working with AEP to replace and repair the street lights. You can help by identifying street lights that are not working properly by sending us the pole number and the street.
Finally, information concerning soccer registration is available. Contact Vince Popo through email at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message on his cell phone 614-562-7320.
In conclusion, we are committed to providing the best service possible for our residents. Pride In The Port!
