Millersport gets great news on waterline project

MILLERSPORT – Village officials got good news last Thursday when sealed bids for the waterline extension to Buckeye Lake were opened.

A total of 18 companies had purchased the bid plans and eight submitted bids. The primary project is to extend approximately 14,000 feet of 12 inch waterline up Millersport Road to Lakeside Drive to Ohio 360 to Ohio 79, ending at the Village of Buckeye Lake corporation line. The engineers’ estimate was $915,000.

Millersport included an alternate to extend the line another additional 2,250 feet up Millersport Road to Ohio 79. The line would be stubbed off there. That estimate was $85,000.

Law General Contracting submitted the low bids for both projects – $649,968.36 for the extension to Buckeye Lake and $67,996.83 for the extension to Ohio 79. Its bids were $282,035 below the combined estimates. Law successfully completed the village’s Phase 1 extension last year. The Board of Public Affairs awarded the contract to Law Tuesday evening.
