Memorial Day parade set

BUCKEYE LAKE – The 5th Annual Memorial Day Parade is set for Saturday May 28.

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from First Community Church, heading down Ohio 79 to the North Shore Boat Ramp for a ceremony honoring veterans led by Buckeye Lake VFW Post #1388.

More than 30 units are preregistered for the parade. This year’s Grand Marshall is Buckeye Lake resident and veteran Ed Neff. Parade entries will be accepted thru May 25. The fee is $5 for non-profits and $10 for everyone else. Parade spectators are invited to come to the state park for the veterans ceremony and free refreshments. Proceeds benefit the Community Celebration Committee.

The 3rd Annual Little Miss Buckeye Lake Contest will be held immediately after the ceremony at the North Shore shelter house. Contest applications are available at the Buckeye Lake Museum. The contest is open to girls 3 -8 years old with an entry fee of $10.
