Mary Lou Thomas




Mary Lou Thomas, age 86 of Baltimore, died September 22, 2017, at her residence. She was born on October 16, 1930, in Thurston to the late Roy and Clara Householder Clum. Mary Lou was a member of the Millersport United Methodist Church; the Millersport Eastern Star OES 301, being Electa for over 30 years; the Pleasant Grange; the Gabby Gals Card Club; and the Alpha Mothers Club.

Mary, “Mary Quite Contrary,” loved attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events, often being the “bleacher referee”. Mary Lou often took requests for her baking and cooking, especially her homemade pies, caramels, and the list goes on.

She is survived by daughters, Marcia Thomas and Sue Strickland; sons, Mike (Wanda) Thomas, and Mark Thomas; grandchildren, Jared Thomas, Jason (Rachel) Thomas, Janae (Shawn) Johnston, Justin Thomas, Cassie (Jared) Watson, Haley Strickland and Morgan (Amy) Thomas; great grandchildren, Georgia, Tucker, Mimi, Tessa, Trey, Ty, Kenzington, Kingzton, Kanon, Makenzee, and Paytyn; and cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Thomas; parents; brothers; and sisters.

Funeral service was September 27, 2017, at the Millersport United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Jerry Wiles. Burial followed the service at Floral Hills Memory Garden.
