Mary Kathleen Cooper

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Mary Kathleen Cooper, 87, of Thornville, was held July 22, 2012, in the Thornville home of Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Doug Lynn, officiating. Burial followed at the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville.

“Kate” was born in Newark, on November 18, 1924, to late John & Mea (Withrow) Williams. After having graduated from Newark High School, she worked for the gas company before getting married to Thomas Cooper.

She was a wonderful mother, who enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved to play euchre with the group in Thornville, loved to read, and as a young woman, enjoyed square dancing, where she met Tom.

She was a member of the Thornville chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Thornville United Methodist Church, the Buckeye Lake Eagles and attended South Shore Ministries.

She is survived by her loving children, Phil (Kathy), Connie Kreager, Mark (Leslie) and Gary (Trenda), all of Thornville; her grand-children, Heather, Allen, Katherine, Sierra, Sara, Karissa and Logan; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Tom, who died in 2010.
