A memorial service celebrating the life of Marty John Eskey, age 73, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street, Kirkersville, with Bernard Nance officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in Kirkersville Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Marty was born August 27, 1941, in Duncan Falls, Ohio, to the late Matthew “Matty” and Josephine (Braun) Eskey. He passed away on January 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Marty was a 1960 graduate of Philo High School and served three years in the United States Army. He retired from AT&T (formerly Ohio Bell/Ameritech) and attended First Baptist Church of Heath.
Marty is survived by his wife, Lois (Hall) Eskey; son, Michael (Linda) Eskey of Duncan Falls; daughters, Rhonda (Joe) Obednikovski of Pataskala and Tammy (Andy) Montell of Pickerington; eight grandchildren, Steve (Stacey) Eskey, Mitchell (Lindsay) Casto, Matthew Casto, Randi Casto, Coulson Casto, Nick Obednikovski, Scott Montell and Kyle Montell; great-grandsons, Garrett Eskey and Gannan Casto; sister, Diane Caton of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brendan Eskey; a sister, Natalie Watts; and two brothers, Lawrence Eskey and Donald Eskey.
