Martha Allen Kumler

Martha Allen Kumler, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, departed this Earth peacefully at home on August 26, 2019. She was born on April 16,1942, to Cecil and Betty Allen of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Martha lived and attended school in communities in California, New Jersey, Indiana, Arizona, and Ohio, as well as in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil. In high school she modeled clothing for Halle’s department store in Cleveland. Following graduation from Rocky River High School, Martha completed a B.A. degree in English and received Dental Hygiene certification (RDH) from the Ohio State University in 1964. She resided with her husband, Karl, and children in central Ohio for the remainder of her life. In addition to her outstanding work as a dental hygienist and instructor of dental hygiene at OSU, Martha served in many leadership volunteer positions, including President, Vice President, and Technology Chairman of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity/Alumnae Association. Martha was an avid and competitive tennis player whose slice serve was the envy of many. She also enjoyed reading, computers, Bible study, and family history. Her love, poise, strength, and grace touched all with whom she worked and provided the foundation for our happiness and livelihoods.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Betty. She is survived by her husband, Karl; her children, Bill (Ellen) and Lori (Hans) who both reside in Ohio, Katie (Matt) of Massachusetts; and Kevin (Keara) of New Jersey; her sister Nancy; and 12 grandchildren.
