Marlene A. Shaw Hoover

Marlene A. Shaw Hoover, age 83 of Lancaster, formerly of New Albany and Baltimore, passed away July 20, 2018, at her residence.

She was a retired lead girl in the accounting department for the Kroger Company with 38 years of service. Marlene was a member of the Baltimore Red Hat Society, past president of the Gahanna VFW Auxiliary, held a private pilot’s license and enjoyed golf, horses, gardening, painting and ceramics. She had one of the first studio and ceramic shop in Columbus during the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Marlene is survived by her son, Eric E. (Lynda) Jayjohn of Lancaster; grandchildren, Vonda (Michael) Fichera, Eric R. (Kimberly) Jayjohn and Elizabeth (John) Wadkins; great grandchildren, Hunter, Adleigh, Lauren, Thomas, and Randall “Rhett”; niece, Jennifer Mitchell and; nephew, Douglas Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Hoover; parents, Marit and Helen Shaw; and brothers, Ronald and Charles Shaw.

Funeral service was held July 24, 2018,. at Bloom Baptist Church, Canal Winchester, with Pastor Glade May officiating. Burial followed in Lithopolis Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given to the Meals on Wheels of Fairfield County, 253 Boving Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
