Maralou Barnes Campbell, 82, of Glenford, died peacefully at her home on February 13, 2016.
Maralou was born August 12, 1933, in Zanesville, to the late Rae H. and Dorothy Orr Barnes of Brownsville.
She was a 1951 graduate of Hopewell High School. She was an employee of Northern Local School District for many years, retiring in 1998 as the secretary at Somerset Elementary. She also served two terms as the Hopewell Township Clerk. Maralou was a member of the Mt. Perry Evangelical Church.
She was married to the late Harold “Pete” Campbell for 29 years.
Maralou is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Paul Paxton of Somerset; her brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, Glen and Bonnie Hursey of Glenford; and the light of her life, her grandchildren, Rachel and Andrew Paxton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her companion and childhood friend, Don Young.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, Somerset, with Pastor Bryan Bushong officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Glenford.
