Lois Horn

Lois Horn, 87 of Pleasantville passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Lois was born on September 14, 1931, in Fairfield County, Ohio, to the late Philip and Florence “Ella” Boyer. She was a 1949 Graduate of Pleasantville High School and worked for both the ASCS office in downtown Lancaster and Dr. R.S. Bode in Rushville, for many years. Lois was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Lois loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother most of all and called these things “the job that never ends.” She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Lois is survived by her sons, Kevin (Doreen) Horn, Tim (Diana) Horn, and her son that never caused her any pain, Mark (Dawn) Remington; step-children, Jean (Robert) Bright and John (Kathy) Horn; grandchildren, Trent (Megan) Horn, Courtney Horn, Nathan Horn, and Nick Horn; great-grandchild, Oliver Horn; nephews, Steve Boyer, Duane Boyer and Jason Boyer; step-grandchildren, Danielle (Matt) Jones and their children, and Julie (John) Foster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Horn; siblings, Emmaline Mills, Richard Boyer, Jerry Boyer and Irvin Boyer; brother in law, Wayne Horn; sister in law, Betty Horn; and nieces, Sue Ann Mills and Judy Boyer Duvall.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Varney and the staff at FairHoPe Hospice and the Pleasant Township Fire Department for their loving care of Lois. Funeral services were held January 29, 2019, the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Burial followed at Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster. Memorial contributions may be given to either FairHoPe Hospice, or the Pleasant Township Fire Department in Lois’s name.
