A funeral service, celebrating the life of Lizabeth Lynn Moats, 64, of Heath, was held May 25, 2012, in the chapel of The Thornville Home of The Hoskinson- Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service, with the Rev. William Ferguson officiating. At Lizabeth’s request, cremation will follow and private family burial will follow at a later date.
Lizabeth died May 22, 2012, in Columbus, following an extended illness. She was born in Lancaster on January 18, 1948, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (White) McCann.
She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1966, had worked for Anchor- Hocking in Lancaster for many years, substitute taught in various schools during their years in Georgia, and recently worked with the Heisey Glass Museum in Newark. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post 85 in Newark.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; her son, Joseph (Daisy) Moats, who after completing four tours of Iraq, is stationed with the 101st Airborne in Germany; her grandchildren, Joseph Jr. and Jordyan; her brothers, Michael (Debra) McCann and Daniel Robert McCann, both of Columbus; and a nephew, Daniel.
Roman Catholic by faith, she attended several area churches prior to her declining health.
