Linda Kay Martin, 70, of Thornville, died December 16, 2017, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born in Parkersburg, WV, to the late Ray and Rosa (Williamson) Cross. Linda was a lifelong caregiver and worked as a nurse’s aide for various local nursing homes. She was a wife, homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.
As a member of the Vine- yard Grace Fellowship church, she babysat church youth and participated in bible study. She was a member of AMVETS in Thornport and volunteered to prepare and deliver care packages to hospitalized veterans. Linda enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, and spending time on her deck watching nature. Most of all she loved being around her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Martin of Thornville; her son, Dan (Tanya) Martin and four grandchildren of Cardington; her sister, Diana Montiso of Santa Maria, CA; and her brothers, Michael of Canton, OH and Mark Williams of Houston, TX; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Gary Martin; and an aunt, Edna Cottrill.
Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Brucker- Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st. Newark. A memorial service will follow visitation at 5 p.m. with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating.
