GRANVILLE – Licking Park District’s Board of Commissioners announced late last month that Richard Waugh was appointed interim park director effective September 1, 2019. Waugh resigned his board position to fill the director vacancy. He had served as a board member since July 17, 2018. r.
Waugh’s resume includes five years in public service with the City of Heath including a term as mayor and nine years at ADR & Associated, Ltd. of Newark, working primarily with public entities on engineering projects. Park Board Commissioners said his background and wealth of experience in management and infrastructure will assist the Park District in its mission to acquire, manage, preserve, and conserve natural areas within Licking County while protecting wildlife and local history. He will continue to support the District’s goal of providing educational opportunities, and health and wellness activities.
The Board of Commissioners will be seeking qualified applicants to fill the full-time position of Park Director as well as Waugh’s vacated volunteer Board of Commissioners position.
